Managing Your Energy According to Your Cycle

Based on the books “Fasting like a girl” and “Do less”, and lessons I have learned on timing life around your cycle,  I created this visual guide.  By simply being aware of the relationship between your energy, hormones, mood, and stage of your cycle, you can aim to optimize your schedule to be in harmony with your body.

 In general, there are two main phases:

Phase 1:  Days 1-14

Follicular: the main follicle in the ovary starts developing and proliferation of the endometrial lining starts happening.

 Ovulation switches things into phase 2

Phase 2:  Days 15-28

Luteal:  The corpus luteum starts to secrete progesterone to promote a thicker endometrial lining after ovulation has occurred to support implantation and pregnancy.
